Petit Futé's opinion on ZOO BASEL
You can start the visit by the vivarium, which offers a veritable tour of the world of the underwater universe of the four continents. We learn all sorts of things from the panels in German and English. Francophones will ask the guide to welcome and learn that the piranhas are not as ferocious and hommes as one would like to believe… The visit of vivarium ends with penguins, snakes and crocos. In winter, penguins walk around 11 h in the park when temperatures do not exceed 10 ° C and it does not rain. Vivarium animals are fed Monday, Wednesday and Saturday between 15 am and 16 PM. Pelicans break the seed at 15 h 30 and lions at 16 h. Don't miss the paddock for the "Gamgoas" lions and the Monkey House, which has five outdoor coins covered with nets for gorillas, chimpanzees and orang-utans. Don't forget to go to see elephants and giraffes: impressive! A good idea for a family outing!
