Written traces of the 14th-century Basle saffron guild can be found here. They were spice sellers and shopkeepers. Street names in the Market Square district bear witness to this: Pfeffergässlein comes from Pfeffer, "pepper", and Imbergässlein fromIngwer, "ginger". In a classy setting, the Safran Zunft restaurant offers tasty seasonal cuisine complemented by traditional, well-mastered classics. Excellent regional and international wine list. Fast, impeccable service.

Service impeccable, qualité excellente. Endroit magnifique Juste dommage que la viande était commandée saignante, et était plutôt rosée. Dommage pour un Châteaubrillant mais je recommande!
