Frutigland (or Frutigen in French) and Kandersteg are two communes in the canton of Berne, in the Frutigen-Bas-Simmental district. This sublime region lies at the foot of several mountain ranges: Blümlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn. A landscape of forests, mountains, lakes and streams awaits you. Just 10 minutes from Kandersteg lies one of the jewels of the region, Lake Oeschinen, a sublime turquoise-blue lake at an altitude of 1,578 m, so exceptional that it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On site, we highly recommend the panoramic hiking trail and the lake walk.
