Why were there bears in Bern? Did they come from the mountains? According to tradition, Berthold V of Zähringen, the city's founder, shot a bear on the Aare peninsula, giving the city its name(Bär = bear). Bears have lived in Bern ever since, and can be observed playing, swimming and climbing at close quarters in a 6,000m2 park created in 2009 on the banks of the River Aare. Finn, Björk, Ursina and Berna are currently the stars of the Bear Park. They can be seen all year round, except during hibernation.

L'origine de l'écusson
Certes, je préférerais les voir en liberté ou en forêt mais la vue sur ses nobles animaux reste sympathique et plaît beaucoup aux enfants. Un moment récréatif après quelque visite culturelle.

Pas de chance, j'y suis allée lorsque l'enclos sur les bords de l'Aar était en rénovation ... Les Ours étaient contenus dans la trop petite fosse et tournaient en rond. J'espère qu'ils ne vont pas tarder à les remettre sur les berges!

Pas la bonne époque...
Je n'y suis peut-être pas allé à la bonne époque (en janvier et avec de la neige...)! Du coup je n'ai pas pu voir les imposants plantigrades... Belle balade tout de même le lond de l'Aar... La prochaine j'irais en été!

La visite des ours est beaucoup plus agréable depuis qu'ils ont déménager dans leur parc. La célèbre fausse aux ours existe toujours, mais n'est plus habitée. C'est beaucoup plus intéressant de voir ces animaux courir dans leur parc.

C'est le passage obligé si vous visitez Bern. En plus c'est gratuit!
