La Cortinada, 2.5 km north of Ordino, with a population of just over 800, is one of the pretty, quiet villages in this valley. In addition to a fun and educational exhibition centre on the geology of the area and its ecosystems, it contains architectural treasures such as the manor houses, a millstone and a sawmill, and the church of Sant Martí de la Cortinada, built in the 12th century and considered one of the most important Romanesque buildings in the Principality. It is also one of the few places in Andorra where you can play golf! The Iron Route (hiking route) also passes through here.
