At an altitude of 1,129 m, Nagol is best known for its two magnificent Romanesque churches. The church of Sant Martí is about a half-hour walk from Nagol. To reach it, you have to take a nice little path that leads to a beautiful plain. The Romanesque building, rebuilt in the 20th century, stands on a hillock with a beautiful view of the Sant Julià de Lòria gorge. The other church, Sant Cerni, was consecrated in 1055. Set in a no less sumptuous setting, its interior walls are covered with Romanesque paintings inspired by the miniature style. It also houses a beautiful altarpiece dedicated to Saint Saturnin.
