On Wednesday, the Boubon market is one of the most original markets in the country. It is better to be transported, but it is not necessary to have a 4 x 4 to reach the village indicated on the road to Tillabéry, left kilometres from the capital. We have to do this at the end of the morning, when the merchants and the shores of the river dock their canoes on the market square, Boubon being a village on the water side. In particular, rice is sold in the rice rice fields of the river, the fish and very beautiful pottery that can be seen in the manufacture and cooking in the village. The potières work the clay by hand and hammer her with a beater to give shape to the canary. It is first dried and then when the number of pieces to cook in the village is sufficient, the potières organize joint cooking. This local technique was taken up in a workshop of Nigéro-Swiss artist who has been developing a pottery in the village for several years, mixing the design and tradition of Niger. The house where the works are exposed is located near the market for animals. You can take a canoe to go to the island of Boubon in front of the village. Usually, in the cold season, a guinguette is open, get informed in the village. You can continue the excursion by taking the road from Tillabéry to Farié to take the ferry and return by the track on the right bank of the river.
