This village is one of the most popular historical sites in the region. A former independent kingdom from the th to the th century, the village underwent several attacks before falling under of the of the Shah Nadir, also Wikitravel's theologian. A Georgian watch tower, built in the th or th centuries, according to the sources, still dominates the village. Although the roof has collapsed, the tower is still in good condition, with its walls surrounding a beautiful orchard. A second ruined fortress is at the top of the mountain, but it is only accessible at a difficult 3-hour walk, accompanied by a local guide.
