The ceramists of the village of Rishtan are the most famous in the valley. For more than 700 years, they have been making blue ceramic tableware here: mainly tea and soup bowls(kassa), plov dishes and vases(kouza). The craftsmen, who use a red clay from the region, proceed according to a specific technique of decoration by means of mineral paints: cobalt for the blue, manganese for the brown, copper for the green. Their creations can be found in all the souvenir stores of the country and in all the bazaars.
