Until recently, the small village of Urgut was very famous for its bazaars where suzanis, the large embroidered drapes typical of Uzbekistan, were traded. Unfortunately, the bazaar so typical of the old days has been replaced by a modern hall without much interest. However, nothing prevents you from going to Urughut outside market days, to stroll through a small mountain village which, despite everything, continues to be full of charm and calm. Situated at the foot of the Zeravchan mountain range, Ourgout is a haven of peace and relaxation built along the river, which you will discover as you climb up towards the mountain towards the "chachma" mosque surrounded by centuries-old trees with excessive roots. One of these trees, part of which unfortunately collapsed in 1997, has a small hermitage in its huge trunk and roots, closed by a wooden door. A table, stools, a sleeping board, all Spartan comfort; to see it, ask for the keys at the mosque. At the back of the park, on the edge of the cemetery, flows a sacred spring whose always limpid water is said to be beneficial. Women who could not have children had to pass through the stone arch that separates the first basin from the canal. The mosque is not accessible to non-Muslims.
