A village nestled in a charming hilly landscape above Puławy, forgotten by the railway network, Kazimierz Dolny is one of Poland's gems. Artists and personalities from Warsaw come here to breathe the healthy air and the warm atmosphere. A former port on the Vistula River, this city, founded in the 13th century, has been through all the great dates, more or less glorious, of Poland's history. Invasions and destruction have been followed by periods of splendor and cultural development. The darkest period was the Second World War, when the entire Jewish population of Kazimierz Dolny was sent to extermination camps. Today, this destination for Polish tourists is becoming known to the world, while remaining authentic, quiet, almost sleepy. The Rynek is covered with terraces where you can enjoy a good Polish beer when the weather is nice and the Warsawers arrive on weekends. Do not leave the city without tasting the bread in the shape of a rooster (symbol of the city). This bread (brioche) can represent various other motifs.Don't miss the beautiful walk along the Vistula River. A pathway along the riverbank (Wał Spacerowy) allows you to follow the course of the Vistula and discover the many granaries that once preserved the village's wealth
