Originally, Bréville-sur-Mer was a Gallo-Roman village called Bréinville, "the village of the marshes". Later, its territory was part of the barony of Saint-Pair, property of Mont-Saint-Michel since the donation made by Richard II, Duke of Normandy around 1022. Today, it is a charming seaside resort with a beautiful sandy beach, and has many resorts and small beach bars.
