A natural reserve for kayaking and fishing. Mangroves are an interesting landscape. Cajete Island can be won where, in 1912, columbian ceramics remains and approximately fifteen mounds of different sizes, dated the classic period (900-1250), were discovered. The whole was damaged by huaqueros (tombes robbers), particularly in 1967, when an epileptic armed group of jade puppets, stones to tap maize (metate) and vases. A project for the conservation of marine turtles is underway in the region.A local legend speaks of Chasca, the goddess of fishing, who was once a beautiful princess in love with an indigenous prince. The father of the beauty did not accept the wedding and killed the plaintiff. Plagued, Chasca threw himself into the waters of the Barra of Santiago, and was unable to find his body. Today, it is said that it appears from time to time on a white boat: local fishermen believe that this is a présage of abundant fishing and praise its benevolence.
