Guy MôquetPart of the short life of the young résistant is written in the canton of Bréhal. His father, Prosper from a farmer's family was born in Chanteloup and it was in Bréhal that Guy fled with his Mother and his Younger brother after the arrest of his father, the Communist Member of Parliament in October 1939. This arrest strengthens the zeal of the young activist who returns only to Paris to persecute communists clandestinely, distributing leaflets. He will be arrested on 13 October 1940 at 16 years by the French police and transferred to Choisel camp in Châteaubriand in Loire-Atlantique. On 20 October, a German officer was shot dead and the occupier demanded the conviction of 50 hostages. Guy Môquet will be part of the group. He will be executed on 22 October 194; he will write a moving letter to his mother on the eve of his execution. His father still imprisoned will not attend the drama of his son and died in Bréhal in 1986.
