Playa El Tunco is a tiny village with a one-way road lined with hotels, restaurants and bars. It's easy to get around on (bare) feet between the alleys running perpendicular to this main road. At the end is a beautiful black sand beach where you can admire the famous El Tunco rock. Bathers share this spot with surfers, as it's a sort of gateway to the beaches of El Sunzal or El Zonte. It's also a popular spot for young people, sports enthusiasts, creative people and artists. In recent years, many new, more chic establishments have sprung up, and many are still under construction.
