ESTADIO NACIONAL JORGE « EL MÁGICO » GONZÁLEZ
Christened at its inauguration Estadio Nacional de San Salvador Flor Blanca, the Jorge «El Mágico» González stadium, from the name of the famous Salvadoran football player, was renamed in 2006 in honour of the child of the country most well known throughout the world. Built between 1932 and 1934, it has a capacity of 32 000 spectators. It is the second largest stadium in the country and the fourth largest in Central America. The Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe of 1935 and 2002, as well as the Juegos Centroamericanos of 1977 and 1994 (kind of Olympic Games bringing together the Countries of this region of the world) took place there. Today, it is a sports area that is not simply reserved for football.
