The that Thomas Belt himself found convincing during his passage in 1872; naturalist notes that juigalpa comes from the southern Aztec, meaning "great city." According to Alfonso Valle, however, this name would mean el criadero de los caracolitos negros (xuctli - caracolitos - calli - house - pan - a), or "in the small black snails".Juigalpa is located 140 km from Managua, in the heart of the central region of Nicaragua. Rodeos are a tradition.
