Honningsvåg is the administrative center of the region, and the last real stopover before the North Cape. Completely destroyed during the Second World War, the town still has a busy little port. It finally comes alive twice a day, thanks to the flood of tourists pouring in on the Hurtigruten coastal express. Tourism is growing, but the economy is still essentially based on the exploitation of hydrocarbons. The call of the North Cape is growing ever stronger, and it's from here that you'll plan your adventure. Honningsvåg is the "town near the North Cape", and that's the main reason to stop here.
