With 11,000 inhabitants, Hammerfest is the most northerly town in the world! The polar bear symbol can be found throughout the town. Although the animal is not present on the continent, Hammerfest was once the departure port for polar bear tracking missions in Spitsbergen. Today, you can become a member of the Polar Bear Club!
