The facade, the ground floor lounges and the staircase have been proposed for protection as a historical monument. The eponymous bar, where the explorer Amundsen gave his last speech, is famous for its whisky menu. It also offers pizza and other small meals.

Located at the end of Bryggen, the hotel looks directly onto the docks. The medium sized rooms are comfortable, airy and bright, mostly in beige and white tones. The location (integration with Bryggen) is absolutely unbeatable. In the hotel is since 2015 the very good restaurant 26 North Restaurant (26north.no), which offers Nordic-inspired menus at lunch and dinner (also a la carte) in a very pleasant setting. The plates are very nicely presented and the products are of good quality, we enjoy ourselves!

A good address, well located, both right next to the fishermen's market and the old town. A large entrance, with interesting architecture, well integrated in the area and different. The rooms are of a very good standard, with comfortable beds and pleasant colours and materials. The breakfast buffet has nothing to envy the big luxury hotels. An address to be known for its great value for money. Prices are often reduced if booked online.

Excellent value for money for this youth hostel in the centre of Bergen and close to the train station. The hostel has been awarded many times and this is justified. Clean, simple, but tastefully decorated. A very good solution for small budgets in a country that is cruelly lacking in them! It is also a way to meet other people of different nationalities, to improve your language skills and to exchange good addresses found during the trip. This hostel with 260 beds is located on the road up to Ulriken, 4 km from the centre. The road to the hostel is a bit tricky, but the view of the city of Bergen below is very nice. You can prepare your own meals in one of the two kitchens available to visitors. You can also book your lunch to take with you on the hike to Mount Ulrik and the high plateau that stretches as far as the eye can see.

A few stairs to climb, and you're there. Don't look for a sign, just ring the bell. A small pension with just 4 rooms, where you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. No phone or TV, but wi-fi access. A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. The bathroom and toilets are shared, which explains the very interesting price. This historic building, rebuilt in 1702 after a fire, has had many functions and activities since its beginnings, mainly trade of all kinds. Converted into a hotel in 2006 with 16 rooms, 21 rooms were added in 2011 and 2012. The Hanseatiske Hotel allows you to be in the heart of the city, close to all shops and museums, while being dry at night. The rooms have a coffee machine and wifi.
