Lysverket is housed in the town's former electricity factory. The restaurant has succeeded in the risky gamble of combining class and luxury, locality and taste (in food and decoration). An exceptional address that lightens the wallet but warms the taste buds with dishes each more delicious than the last. The chef was awarded his first Michelin star in 2023! The place is committed to local agriculture, notably through their Mat-Tak project. Their 6-course menu allows you to sample a whole range of local produce - a wonderful discovery!

Enhjørningen (Norwegian for "unicorn") is a fish restaurant in the old Hanse district. The building has been recently restored and still has its original 17th century appearance. Here you can enjoy fish specialties, their specialty, but also meat dishes. At lunchtime, there is an all-you-can-eat fish and seafood buffet. Top quality, real and very good, with a breathtaking panoramic view... Book the table by the window!

One of the best addresses in Bergen. Colonialen opened its doors for the first time in 2005, before moving to the beautiful Kong Oscars Gate in the spring of 2014. Since the beginning, the restaurant has won praise for its refined cuisine based on local and seasonal products. Worthy of the great restaurants. For a special occasion or if you want to have a little fun! Colonialen also has another address, for everyday meals the Colonialen Litteraturhuset.

This 300-year-old restaurant overlooks the quays and harbor. The bar on the first floor is furnished with carved wooden banquettes and decorated with model ships swinging under the low ceiling. On the^1st floor, the more chic restaurant offers a menu featuring all kinds of local and seasonal fish, reindeer steak and lamb. And you can choose how the accompanying potatoes are prepared. House specialties: Saltkjøtt & Raspeballer and lutefisk. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available.

Although Inside Rock Cafe is known for its good burgers (the best in town, they say), we can only recommend it for the international atmosphere and the live concerts! In summer, you can also enjoy the indoor garden. You can also enjoy all kinds of tapas (including vegan fries!) with a good beer. Children's menus start at NOK 106. Inside Fløyen Rock Café moved to their current location in November 2019 and renamed itself Inside Rock Café Korskirken.

Bien restaurants come in a variety of specialties. Bien Centro offers traditional Italian cuisine with a focus on quality pasta and pizza. Local products of course - and the prices reflect this - with a rather limited menu. There's also Bien Basar (offering more refined cuisine with no particular reference to Italy), SnackBar and Bien Pizzabar. While the last two are more out of the way, the downtown establishments should be enough to appease your appetite.

Zupperia or the pun for "superior" referring to the fact that quality soups are served here. It is the largest soup restaurant in the city. An interesting option for those who want to eat healthy at a reasonable price! A simple and lively place as we like it, despite the atmosphere being a bit too dim and dark for our taste. The variety of dishes offered means that everyone around the table will find something to eat. The high ceiling is very pleasant because it makes the place breathe.

A good brewery option in Bergen. Different options available depending on the time of day. The rest of the day, dishes à la carte. Please note that the kitchens close at 10pm. The local and tasty cuisine includes seafood, meat and vegetables (vegetarian menu) and is inspired by Nordic culture. The products are exclusively from short circuits, all in a cosy and warm atmosphere in the house of literature. A place to discover!

Stefano Tavass welcomes you to this beautiful restaurant and grocery store. The delights of Italian cuisine in the heart of Bergen, and at low prices! Great choice of pizzas, but also salads, meat, vegetarian dishes, wraps, their famous Zingara sandwich, all kinds of antipasti and of course their delicious homemade foccacia from their own bakery. The tiramisu is not bad at all. A good address to treat yourself without ruining yourself, a bit unheard of in Norway!

Nice cafe restaurant with a large choice of beers, including local ones. The pint of lager from 7 euros, almost a record for Norway. Nice atmosphere, music not too loud and diverse. Friendly and reactive staff. A popular place for locals who can eat well for not too much money. In the evening for example, the Norwegian salmon dish with vegetables and small baked potatoes for 20 euros. Quite original too, the pizza with reindeer meat. All in all, a good option to eat out and have a drink without breaking the bank.

Les To Kokker, or Les Deux Cuisiniers, in French, is located on the quays, at the end of the covered passage, among the old houses of the Hanseatic merchants. It has the reputation of being one of the best restaurants in Bergen, and even in Norway. It's nice to have a choice of three menus, as it's not often the case in Norway. The chefs are keen to use fresh local and seasonal products, and this is reflected in the food. A restaurant to enjoy and taste new flavours!

A table located in the heart of the district classified as a World Heritage Site, which dates back to 1708 and deserves to be known! You really have the impression of being transported somewhere else, a bit like in a Far West movie set, with all these old wooden boards. The cuisine is of very good quality and you can taste many local specialities, like dried fish soup, whale steak, grilled reindeer fillet or desserts with brunost, the famous caramelized cheese. Large terrace in summer. Remember to make a reservation. We recommend it!

The verdict is in: the grandiose interior of the Frescohallen restaurant is well worth a visit! It's located within the walls of the Bergen Børs Hotel, considered to be the city's most important neo-classical building. Its impressive vaults are adorned with frescoes painted by Axel Revold between 1921 and 1923, depicting the city's economic life. While the limited and basic content of the menu may come as a surprise given the location and prices, you'll be sure not to be disappointed by the quality of the cuisine. A culinary and perhaps above all visual experience.

Cornelius Seafood Restaurant is a unique and popular culinary destination on the northwest coast of Bjoroy Island, with spectacular views of the fjord and islands near Bergen. Their Meteorological menus are inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding fjords. Many raw-food proposals. The menus mostly include the boat trip there and back. Going to eat there is quite an experience, as you usually spend the whole day there. It is a way to discover the fjords in a different way, while enjoying yourself!

Café and bistro on the heights of the old town. We're happy to stop in for a coffee, a break or even a bite to eat, perhaps on our way out of Nordnes Sjøbad? From tajine to toast to falafel, the menu is exotic and fresh. The interior is very cosy, with vintage bistro decor and friendly staff. In summer, you'll appreciate the terrace with its view of Mount Fløyen and very low traffic. The ideal place to stroll and watch the passers-by before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the city center.
