Travel Guide Aratane

125 km from Tichit, still on the Oualata trail, on the border between the Tagant and Hodh ech-Chargui regions, are the Aratane wells. These six wells are spread over 200 m, following the underground water vein, but they are practically unusable because of the sand that regularly blocks them. Yet the water here is not very deep, at most 3 m below the surface. While you think you are alone in the middle of the desert, from nowhere a Bedouin appears, and with a can he starts to draw water from these wells which seemed to be dry...
