One of the only Catholic tribes on the island is located 3 km from the airport. The imposing church, with its two square towers, dates back to 1881. On the right of the church is the Grand Chief of Wetr. It is here that the customary authorization is required to visit the large traditional box, which stands in its garden (+687 450 259). Built more than a century ago and surrounded by a fence, the large box remains the symbol of the customary organization. The central pillar represents the Grand Chief who supports the entire tribe. Around him, the pillars of a lower diameter are supposed to be as many as the clans that make up the tribe.
