Greatly renowned for its coffee culture maintained by the first settlers, this village is also famous for its flower essences and various plants. Among them, Amborella trichopoda which exists only in New Caledonia and was already present on Earth at the time of the dinosaurs. Some consider it to be the mother of all flowers. It blooms in March, between 600 and 800 meters of altitude in the region. For a short walk that gives an overview of the superb flora of the area, a botanical trail starts near the tourist office. The plateau of Dogny will attract great hikers.
