The site includes two caves: Tham Ting on the first level, then Tham Theung (also called Tham Phum) at the top of the stairs. It is a well known Buddhist pilgrimage site. They contain thousands of statuettes of Buddha, there would be between 4 000 and 5 000. All of them are of different styles and sizes, although many are in the traditional Luang Prabang style. They have been placed there by devotees over the years. Tham Ting is lit by natural light. On the other hand, it is necessary to bring a flashlight to contemplate the treasures of Tham Theung, deeper. The discovery of the caves is accompanied by the scent of incense lit by the faithful. The caves are the object of a pilgrimage at the time of the Lao New Year, Pi May: the Buddhist faithful come to sprinkle the statues with perfumed water.
