In this beautiful hilly region, Sebastian Kneipp (1821 - 1897), whose bath salts are well known, made the small town of Bad Wörishofen (16,000 inhabitants) the largest health resort in Swabia. The priest developed a healing and wellness method based on five rules: hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, nutrition, sport and harmony of body and mind. For Germans, if the cure is prescribed by prescription, the Social Security covers part of the costs. Tourists have to pay the full cost, which is not so high. The treatment is usually included in the price of the hotel.
