The architectural complex that served as a backdrop for the large annual gatherings of the NSDAP.

You are standing on the site of the large NSDAP rallies, orchestrated by Adolf Hitler and his henchmen for the purpose of mobilization and propaganda. The 16.5 square kilometre site, which includes various architectural complexes, still shows the dimensions of its excess: theKongresshalle, which was never completed, was supposed to be 70 metres high. The "GroßeStraße", 2 km long and 40 m wide, was used for military parades and parades. The Zeppelin tribune(Zeppelintribüne), for which Albert Speer was inspired by the Pergamon altar, was located in front of a large square that could accommodate 200,000 people... These places served as backdrops for the staging of Nazi power during the annual celebrations of the NSDAP. Aware of the power of images, Leni Riefenstahl was commissioned to make a propaganda film, The Triumph of the Will, in which the architecture - both the medieval Nuremberg and the Fascist site - played a special role. A visit to these places helps to better understand the megalomania of these great Nazi masses.

Until the Documentation Centre reopens in the autumn of 2023, an interim exhibition - very well done, clear and edifying - helps you explore the links between Nuremberg and National Socialism. You will discover a model of the complex to better situate the different places, photos from the 1920s until the end of the war. A very well done exhibition, the next one is all the more promising.

I love this museum. Think of walking in Dutzenteich to give you an account of the megalomania of Hitler afterwards! This museum, thanks to a French audioguide present in the premises of the buildings that the dictator built the ascent of Nazism and the arrival of Hitler to power. It traces the history of the country for was played Nuremberg until current racism. It will touch each. Easily accessible in tram.
I advise you to come in the morning and its opening, then stroll in Dutzenteich and finish your day with the house During (in the old town, near the castle).
