The St. Martin's Church in Garmisch, in its typical southern German Baroque style, dates from the early 18th century.
St. Martin's Church dates from the early 18th century and is like many other Baroque churches in southern Germany. The exterior is very plain, but the interior is lavishly decorated. The only difference is that the banners in the nave are rare in German churches. The work on this Catholic parish church was directed by Josef Schmutzer and the frescoes are the work of Matthias Günther. They depict the life of St. Martin (St. Martin of Tours).
