The museum exhibits beautiful models that made the success of the famous Bavarian brand and prototypes never put on the market.
The BMW Museum (Bayerische Motoren Werke) is located not far from the Olympiapark, in a building nicknamed the Weisswurstkessel, which roughly translates as "sausage pot". Visitors will discover numerous models of the famous Bavarian brand, as well as experimental models that were never realized, aircraft and motorcycles, all on display over 5,000m2. One of the finest pieces in the collection is certainly the original car from the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies . Fans of the spy saga will be in heaven! But there's more to the visit than just the vehicles. In the various areas of the permanent exhibition, you can also discover a wealth of information on different themes: the history of the company, design, mechanics, vehicle design... Enough to convince you to buy one of the brand's models? And if you're interested in a particular car, don't hesitate: you can buy it on the spot! It's even said that no fewer than 250 buyers come here every day to find their dream car - that's 45,000 a year..
On the other side of the road, the BMW-Welt (literally BMW World) is the brand's showroom. This futuristic glass and steel building was designed by architects Coop Himmelb (l) au. Visitors are invited to explore the exhibition of models from all BMW Group brands as part of a guided group tour or independently. Admission is free of charge.
