Capital of Gaza province, Xai-Xai, population 120,000, lies on the banks of the Limpopo River, 210 km north of Maputo. It's not usually a place to stop for lunch or to buy cashew nuts, as the town is a major production center. You can stop off at the Limpopo Market. Xai-Xai's colonial buildings are very rare, and the town is shunned by tourists who prefer the region's heavenly beaches.
