FESTA DE NHO FILIPE

On Fogo, the Festa de Nhõ Filipe, also known as Festa das Bandeiras, is the most important festival on the island. It takes place on the weekend around May^1st and is a festival that everyone enjoys. Horse races, soccer matches, fireworks shows and concerts that last until dawn take over the city, which turns into a huge joyful fair, not to mention the processions. Flights and ferries also sell out early, so it's best to plan ahead or risk missing the event.
