It is one of the beautiful beaches of the island, quiet and completely deserted where it is possible to swim throughout the year. With its few rocks, it is ideal for snorkeling. Go there by taxi or ask a colectivo to drop you off between Calheta and Morrinho in front of the track that leads there (there is a signpost), the ideal being to go there with a 4x4, provided you know how to manoeuvre in the dunes. Praia Santana, on the north side, is also quite exceptional, but dangerous because the currents are violent. To reach it, pass the dunes in a westerly direction and make way for the majestic expanses of sand.
