There are some magical places still hidden from view. Such is the case of this magnificent brown sand beach near Tarrafal. To get there, take the path that follows the coastline. The route is completely deserted and the landscape is almost lunar. Remember to bring good shoes, as the terrain is rocky. Only the presence of the ocean brings you back down to earth. We cross a few ancient lava flows before reaching the beach. The contrast between the dark basalt and the light coral sand makes for a beautiful shot. It's a superb, little-frequented beach, where you can enjoy crystal-clear waters and extreme tranquillity.
