The small seaside resort of Ver-sur-Mer, located just between Gold Beach and Juno Beach, saw the British land on June 6th 1944 to liberate it. But the beach of Ver had been, long before that, the scene of a curious adventure, that of the crash (without gravity) of the Fokker America ensuring the first official airmail link between the USA and France. It was on the night of June 30, 1927. The Gold Beach Museum pays tribute to both this air crossing and the liberators of Ver. In the same historical continuity, a majestic British Memorial, overlooking the sea, was inaugurated in 2021, for the 77th anniversary of June 6th 1944.
