Reutte, with its 6,054 inhabitants, is the economic center of the Ausserfern region, but also its tourist and administrative capital. This small town in the Tyrol, which is not far from the ruins of Ehrenberg Castle, is known for having seen the passage of most of the German engineers, including Wernher von Braun, who fled from their military base in Peenemünde to escape the Red Army. Delivered to the American army on May 3, 1945, this elite group worked on the development of the American launchers which allowed the launch of Apollo. Reutte is a charming little town at the foot of the mountains. To see: the adorable chapel with its bulbous bell tower.
