Mozart Square opens onto Residenzplatz and the cathedral, residence of the prince-archbishops.

A place of remembrance and rallying. In the middle of this vast square stands a statue of Mozart, a child of Salzburg and a celebrated musician honored in his hometown like nowhere else. Designed by Ludwig Schwanthaler, the statue was erected in 1842, half a century after the composer's death and in the presence of his sons. Mozart Square, overlooked by the magnificent Salzburg Museum, opens onto Residenzplatz and the cathedral, residence of the prince-archbishops.

Superb square which is located not far from the river which crosses Salzburg. It owes its name to the genius of music and child of the city called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Its dimensions are important and you can admire, in addition to the statue of the divine musician, the museum Mozart was held in 2006, the exhibition for the anniversary of his birth.

Nearby, the cathedral, and the side streets of the old town with the famous " are; street; enseignes".
