The Haus des Wiener Musikvereins, opened in 1870, is considered by many music lovers and musicians to be the best concert hall in the world for its acoustics. Bach and Beethoven are regularly performed here. But since the concerts of the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (www.wienerphilharmoniker.at) are the most popular in the city, you need to book well in advance to attend. Tickets are sometimes resold on the spot by buyers who are forced to cancel their evening at the last minute.

Réputée pour son concert du jour de l'an dans la salle Golden, le Musikverein est le lieu que tout musicien se doit de visiter. La salle est spectaculaire, mais malheureusement j'y suis allée pendant l'été et le seul concert disponible était le Wiener Mozart Konzerte que je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié. Même si la salle est climatisée, la chaleur est insupportable au balcon.

A beautiful place to assist å a concert. Choose a concert in the großer Saal which is more impressive than Brahms Saal. If you are lucky enough to get tickets for Philharmoniker you will not be disappointed as with Symphoniker. Le Mozart Orchester plays here also often. Although a decent level, it is destined to tourists... It is possible to buy most tickets on the website of the Musikverein.
