Búðir is located not far from the junction of roads 574 and 54. The site consists simply of a small black plank church, set on the edge of a lava field and next to an old coaching inn converted into a hotel, and a small cemetery where everyone would "dream" of being buried. The lava poured out of the Búðaklettur crater in the center of the peninsula. The place is soothing, despite the sometimes constant presence of tourists, as the church is very well known. Black rocks rise up between dunes of blond sand, the smooth head of a seal emerges from the dark waters and the long beach of Búdavík is just a stone's throw away..
