This tiny, picturesque village of 190 inhabitants is located on the eastern bank of the Skagafjörður and is one of the oldest fishing villages on the island. It's a lovely detour to make before arriving in Akureyri, to visit the interesting Emigration Museum, but above all to take a dip in its splendid swimming pool! In spite of its success as a tourist destination, Akureyri retains a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
