Jökulsárgljúfur National Park stretches over 35 km. The landscape is very different depending on the bank on which we are, but most of the sites congregate on the west shore. Its brown waters wind through cliffs basalt gorges. The national park begins south in Dettifoss along the Jökulsá Gorge, which is the longest and most impressive of Iceland. Extending to 25   km, they have up to 500   m in width and over 100   m in depth. The upper canyon, from Dettifoss to Syðra-Þórunnarfjall, is the deepest (up to 120   m) and the most grandiose.
