Just a stone's throw from the tribulations of Deauville-Trouville lies a charming village that exudes peace and tranquility. A charming commune, full of flowers and life all year round, with an unsuspected past. The first traces of human occupation on the Touques site date back to the first century AD. In the Middle Ages, it was the second largest city in the Pays d'Auge! Its bustling commercial port was protected by a fortified castle, one of the main residences of the Dukes of Normandy. Touques was the first commune in Calvados to be awarded the "Petite cité de caractère" label.
