Campsite in the north-east of the city, offers useful facilities including a friendly common room, washing machine and dryer
As with many campsites in the country, here you can pitch your tent in a spectacular, green setting. As well as the views, there are useful facilities on site, including a friendly communal room, washing machine and tumble dryer. Good to note: there is no individual shower (at this time), so you will have to leave your modesty in the cloakroom... The campsite is located not far from Route 1 and the supermarket, in the north-east of the town. Often crowded during the summer, as shown by the queue in front of the showers...

En invierno está cerrado. Pero puedes aparcar. Tip viajero: aparca aquí y dúchate, baño y hot tub en la piscina municipal del pueblo por 5€. Para más consejos viajeros sígueme en instagram @jesscomitre

Bon emplacement dans Vik côté collines. Acceuil sympathique. Sanitaires nickels. Cependant, la salle commune n'est pas chauffée (ni isolée) il y faisait quasiment aussi froid que dehors (sans le vent). Bref pour ceux qui viennent surtout pour dîner au chaud en hors saison (fin octobre pour notre cas) c'est un peu dommage. Je comprends pourquoi le lieu ferme dès novembre.

I really like this place. Located very near to the town vik. They charged me 15 € for a night stay. We have to drop three 100 isk coins to take the shower. Also remember they close the kitchen area at sharp 9 pm and open again at morning 8 am.

Camping fermé en hiver mais possibilité d’y rester pour la nuit sur les emplacements, des toilettes sont accessibles au Krónan à côté (ouvert de 9h à 21h)

The best camping we found in the south, the area is covered with green grass with a nice view over the mountains and a close proximity of Kronan supermarket and some nice restaurants. We spent there two nights, it was a good base to see all of the south.
There’s a common kitchen area when you can get hot water, cook with your own gear and wash it, the bathrooms are clean and nice and so are the showers. 5 min of a shower is 300 ISK and you get the coins for it at the reception. The place is managed by lovely Spanish people and you can order some wifi and electricity at the reception between 7 am and 10 pm. Same with showers so if you want a shower make sure to make it to the campsite between those hours.
No crowd in September, plenty of space to choose from. Hope to be back some day! ☺️
