Remember to book ahead or arrive early! It's also worth noting that service can sometimes be a little slow due to the crowds.

Eating a burger in Iceland? And why not! The Ströndin restaurant is located in a rather uninviting shopping area, but it offers perhaps one of the best burgers in Iceland. In any case, a very good burger to be enjoyed in a warm atmosphere. Service is fast and with a smile, to boot! Also on the menu: salads, pizzas and fish specialties. You can also order takeaway or simply stop in for a drink. A good address with excellent value for money.

The Black Beach, both a restaurant and a cafe, is located at the end of Reynishverfisgur (road 215), a few kilometers from Dyrhólaey, right on the sea. Built in 2014, you won't be able to miss this rather unusual building, which blends into the landscape (rocks from the beach were used as building material). The place offers coffee, hot soup, cakes, waffles and sandwiches for those in a hurry, or plustraditional lamb, beef or fish cuisine for those with time to savour. Times can be random.

Adjacent to the tourist office, this is one of the city's best addresses for tasty meat dishes in sauce, pizzas and burgers. The staff are very attentive and the portions are generous, for a rather reasonable budget. It's also a pleasant place to enjoy an afternoon coffee and pastry, or an early evening drink. A few chairs and tables are brought out as soon as the first rays of sunshine appear, and many locals make this their regular haunt.
