The most inexpensive version in Iceland to rent a car, but all three cars I have had so far were all pretty beaten up and older models. The worst was the Dacia Duster. However, I never had problems returning the cars, even when completely mud covered. That’s why I keep coming back.

Auto siisti ja toimiva vaikkei ihan uusi ollutkaan. Palautuksen jälkeen vaivattomasti vuokraamon kyydillä lentokentälle.

Super Autovermietung. Klasse Preis -Leistungsverhältnis. Das Auto war einfach mega(besser als wir gebucht hatten) und alle dort sehr sehr freundlich. Der Shuttle war pünktlich und zuverlässig! Kann Icerental 4x4 uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würde jederzeit wieder ein Auto dort mieten.

Nous avons loué un duster Dacia pour notre trip en Islande.J'avais choisi un ancien modèle volontairement pour éviter que l'agence nous reproche des dégradations.Nous avons été servis: duster 367000 compteur, bien abîmé à peu près partout.Mais il nous a accompagné tout le séjour sans problème (2160 kms parcourus) Au retour pas de difficulté pas de mauvaise surprise.
Attention l'agence n'est pas dans l aéroport et ils ne prennent que deux passagers, nous avons laissé nos grands enfants à l aéroport le temps d aller chercher la voiture.Retour idem.

Wir haben uns einen Leihwagen für 9 Tage geliehen für insgesamt 710 Euro ( inkl. Platinum - Versicherung).
Am Flughafen mussten wir 15 Min. warten,bis der Shuttleservice uns abgeholt hat.
Als Fahrzeug wurde uns ein Dacia Duster 4x4 mit 370.000 km zur Verfügung gestellt,welcher alters - bzw.kilometerbedingt einige Mängel aufwies ( diverse Beulen,zig Steinschläge,Rost,Start Stop Automatik nicht funktionsfähig, Innenraum verlebt,etc.).
Als Autofahrer aus Deutschland hat man ggf.einen anderen Anspruch an Fahrzeuge,sodass wir bei der Abholung die Mängel entsprechend dokumentiert haben, sodass bei der Rückgabe keine Diskussionen aufkommen.
In den 9 Tagen erwies sich das Fahrzeug aber als praktischer Begleiter, der Verbrauch lag bei ca.8 Litern Benzin im Eco Modus und oft sehr starkem Wind.
Die Rückgabe hat unkompliziert funktioniert,nach kurzer Begutachtung des Fahrzeuges durch den Vermieter wurden wir zum Hotel gefahren.
Der Service war gut,das Auto für den ausgewiesenen Preis aber unserer Meinung nach etwas über den Zenit hinaus.
Glücklicherweise gab es bei der Rückgabe aber keine Diskussionen über diverse Mängel am Fahrzeug,die bei der Laufleistung normal sind ( gerade bei den Witterungen in Island ).

Ich empfehle weiter, wir haben Hyundai I 10 gemietet, alles war fertig in 5 Minuten. Mit dem Auto haben wir keine Probleme gehabt, wir haben 1600KM für 6 Tage gemacht. Alles war super.

We have rented a car with Icerental 4x4 in February 2023 for 5 days. At the airport it was not very clear where to go for the pick up and transfer to the office. So we had to run a couple of rounds in the parking area before we could identify the transfer driver. Only the driver could be taken to the office, the passengers had to stay at the airport and wait for the driver to pick up the car and return to the airport to pick up the passengers. I was a bit shocked that the car was really old and shabby, with minor and major scratches and bumps. But for the little money we have rented it no reason to complain. The paperwork at the office went quick and smooth. We have got instructions where the rental cars are absolutely forbidden and how to check if the roads are passable, as weather condition could change quite suddenly. We have driven not that much as the weather was partly quite horrible. But we still could visit some great places and get the feeling of the winter in Iceland.
On return to the rental office - all went well, no requests or new damage claims to the car.
If you are on budget and are looking for a cheap car, Icerental 4x4 is a good option.
