The Verona Arsenal is located in a green plain and consists of nine buildings separated by courtyards
This military complex was built between 1854 and 1861 by the Austrians when Franz Joseph I wanted to transform Verona into a fortified city. After the Veneto region became part of Italy (in 1866) and until the Second World War, the Arsenal was used as an arms depot. The building consists of nine buildings separated by courtyards, alleys and squares. The architectural ensemble is surrounded by greenery. Today, the Arsenal park is a very popular place for walks by Veronese and tourists.

Arsenale piazza is in this May 12th, 2011 work, which is a shame. Access from the bridge spanning Adige plunges visitors to the Middle Ages.
