118 km from Djibouti, 49 km from Ali Sabieh, 77 km from Lake Abbé, 97 km from Galafi. Its name evokes a place of passage and meeting, and this is what Dikhil is with its mixture of populations, afars and issas, unique in the country.

This district capital is indeed an obligatory stop for all visitors on their way to the Lake Abbot. The N1 road crosses it and "bounces" here to the northwest, towards Galafi and the Ethiopian border. The small locality, still sometimes called by the locals Saralou, "l'oued au koudou", has a few assets that will keep you busy during a stopover. It is indeed necessary to regain one's strength before continuing on the road to the Lake Abbot.
