Travel Guide Doraleh

Doraleh is the site of Djibouti's new large deep-water port, 10 km west of Djibouti, on the N3. Almost all of the goods are destined for or come from Ethiopia. The route, quite pleasant, skirts the sea, the city and especially the popular district of Balbala. If you take the track at the level of the oil terminal passing the port area, you will arrive at a light sand beach surrounded by dark rocks, very popular on Thursdays and Fridays. The beach does not have a good reputation in terms of security; one should be vigilant and not walk around with valuables or go to this beach after 4pm.
