The Furore fjord is the postcard that you can see everywhere from Sorrento, but also the place you never find. Between the territories di Conca dei Marini, Agerola and Furore, it lies in the centre of the Schiato River. Just after Praiano, the national road crossing the Amalfi coast killed this village, but its fjord attracts tourists. We don't see it directly because the bridge that spans it quickly swings into the tunnel that faces it. That's why it's often only his picture that we've got in mind. The passage on this bridge lasts a handful of seconds and when you see the fjord, you think you dream. Then the lovely coast asphalt ribbon resumes its course. With breathtaking beauty, you must leave the road. The 3 000 steps that go to the fjord are loaded with history, and that is the way fishermen go back to fish. At the time of the Amalfi Republic, this little harbour sheltered from the wind was popular. The remains of this period illuminate the village of Furore of old mills. At the bottom, a sandy beach puts a final point at the fjord where the torrent flows down from Mount Argerola.
