Path starting in Bomerano, passing through Agerola and ending in Positano, ancient mule track

The most famous hiking trail of the Amalfi Coast, and certainly the most beautiful! Connecting Bomerano, a hamlet of Agerola, to Positano, it follows an ancient mule track, most of which is suspended 500 meters above the sea. The trail passes then passes the villages of the coast below. As you hike, you will discover the deep beauty of the peninsula, landscapes where you can still hear the whisper of mermaids.

Thestart of the trail is in Piazza Paolo Capasso. It is indicated by a map with a general description. The path is well marked along the way.

After 30 to 40 minutes of walking, it splits into two variants: the lower path on the left and the upper path on the right. If the second option is a little more tiring, it guarantees more spectacular panoramas the higher you go. The two paths meet before reaching Nocella.

In Nocella, it is possible to eat and drink an orange or lemon juice. There is a nice view from the belvedere of the church, and public toilets (for a fee). You can then take the 1,600 steps back down to Positano or continue the walk to Montepertuso. In this case, you must follow the Via Nocelle, an alleyway wedged between the houses, to a small square dominated by a tree, and follow the signs.

A stretch of paved road leads to Montepertuso where you can take another 1,200 steps to reach Positano.
