Ski resort 40 km from Bormio, isolated in the middle of the mountains and curiously located along the road. A free zone for shopping, a gigantic "duty free" at an altitude of 1,800 m, a privilege that dates back to the 16th century and has been maintained ever since, because until 1953 Livigno was completely cut off from the rest of the valley in winter. Its ski area with 12 black, 37 red and 29 blue runs is surrounded by an exceptional natural setting between Switzerland and the Stelvio Natural Park. After skiing, the local pick-me-up is the inevitable bombardino, made with fresh cream, brandy, coffee and Vov (a liqueur made from eggs and marsala)
